prosperoart Posted April 10, 2008 Posted April 10, 2008 (edited) Possible answer to PayPal not sending customers back to complete order: Many times people do not get sent back to our shop once they have paid at PayPal. (Yes, we have set up the auto return at PayPal and it works some of the time) The following idea would really help us: Is there a way to have an email sent to us when the customer clicks the "Confirm Order" button that takes them to PayPal? The email could say something like: "You have a possible order coming for (customer name and products being ordered) Please wait for PayPal payment notification before sending items." This way if we only receive the PayPal notification of payment with no idea of what had been ordered, we could match it up with the email sent earlier when the customer clicked the final "Confirm Order" button from our shopping cart. Thanks for any ideas or advice on how to accomplish this. ProsperoArt Edited April 10, 2008 by prosperoart Quote

This needs to be set to return to checkout_success.php on your site. This will cause the emails to be sent. Quote

Will this also fix order information from not showing up in the "Orders" area in the admin section when users use PayPal? Quote

Once the return is set up all the emails and orders will start to show up. If you want, set up one of your items at 1 penny and buy it using a credit card. Paypal will only take the penny as charges unless their rules have recently changed. It will show you the process from the angle of the customer and shop owner. Quote
