Paul_C
I got this email the other day from them: USPS Web Tools API customer, Access to the Express Mail? Service Commitment API will be suspended starting on January 1, 2003. This email will be your sole notification of this change. This suspension will allow us to make modifications to how the system maintains current service commitments. We do not have a date at this time for returning this API to service. Summary: Wednesday, 01/01/03 - service end date for Express Mail Service Commitment API We apologize for any inconvenience this suspension may cause. Thank you very much for your continued use of the USPS Web Tools API's. Should you have further questions regarding this or any other issue having to do with Web Tools, please contact our Internet Customer Care Center at icustomercare@usps.com. sfatula
So, if you are using the Express Mail Service Committment API, you are right. if you are not, then it doesn't affect you. What does this have to do with USPS going away? Steve
Guest
Now osCommerce will not give the clients of my site or any other oscommerce the shipping rate once the API is turned off
wizardsandwars
For "Express Mail". Simply take out the option to retreive a quote for "Express Mail" Don't have a cow, man. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- NOTE: As of Oct 2006, I'm not as active in this forum as I used to be, but I still work with osC quite a bit. Guest
Johnathan, Calm down, take a deep breath and write to the email for the PO that's listed in the email from them. I'm sure they can explain exactly how that it will affect you.
sfatula
Ok, I guess i was not clear. OSC DOES NOT USE that API, so express mail will continue to quote. Unless you have you own code that uses that particular API, you are fine. Steve
wizardsandwars
Thanks Steve for clearing that up. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- NOTE: As of Oct 2006, I'm not as active in this forum as I used to be, but I still work with osC quite a bit. Guest
osCommerce does not use the API? How's does the osCommerce software get the prices of USPS shipping without using the API
sfatula
USPS has around 20 APIs. This is one of them, and is not the rating API. This is as it says, the Express Mail SERVICE COMMITTMENT API. Give them a call if you do not believe me! I assure you it is the case. Steve
