Guest Posted April 10, 2008 Share Posted April 10, 2008 hELLO, I have been trying to find out a problem with my shipping options but can't locate the source of it. Can anyone else give me some pointers? PROBLEM 1: I have configured the shipping methods to work with my store. I have enabled the zone shipping but am having real problems with the weight the cart calcualtes. It seems to add 2kgs to every order. EG Item 1 weighs 2.5kg (e.g. a breastpump) Item 2 weighs 2.5kg (e.g. a steriliser) Shipping total weight = 7kg! This is of course affecting the rate of shipping being charged, making the charge too high. Any idea why it would add 2kg to everything? PROBLEM 2: In my store people can choose to have their parcel sent by post or by courier. I used the zone rates module to calcualte parcel postage based on weight breaks. I now need another shipping module to calculate courier charges based on zone. Can I install another zone-based shipping option to do that? Please Visit My Website Hi Kelleigh, Is your tare weight set to zero? Sounds like it's set to 2kg...that would explain why it's adding the extra 2kg. Go into your admin under configuration, then shipping/packaging and check the "package tare weight".
