inkmaker Posted April 9, 2008 Posted April 9, 2008 Problem is when an item is entered in the search box, one gets back a "#1054 - " etc. as below. My provider sent me this message about how to go about setting things right but I have no idea how to implement his instructions. This is a big company server/provider and there must be several hundred others who have had this link broken as well. I could help them if I knew where/how to do what is needed. I have been with osCom for years and on this server as well and nothing else is broken but this link even after their upgrade to MySQL 5. I did add in the patch of code for the SQL 4.1 to 5.X as was instructed in the osCommerce Solutions information. But the link to the search request was broken before I added the few code lines. Service support said: " After the recent MySQL server upgrade you might be getting the following errors in some of the forums installed on our servers, "#1054 - Unknown column 'xxxx' in 'on clause". This is the error on MySQL 5, but its working fine in MySQL 4.1 You need to redefine the Join query in the script or could use some readymade fixing by searching in Search Engines. For example: Detailed MySQL documentation on 'Join': http://dev.mysql.com/doc/refman/5.0/en/join.html . " I am just lost - can anyone point me in the direction to make this correction?? :'( www.inkmkr.com Charles H
Jan Zonjee Posted April 9, 2008 Posted April 9, 2008 I am just lost - can anyone point me in the direction to make this correction?? :'( Download the latest osC version (2.2 RC2a). Find the folder extras and look for the file update-20060817.txt. In that text file also the update of November 12, 2005 is found that deals with that error (bottom of the file: MySQL 5.0 Compatibility). Yes, it is that old.
inkmaker Posted April 9, 2008 Author Posted April 9, 2008 That was quick - I'm off to find it! Charles H

It worked smoothly and the cart is back in business and I am off for a Scotch and dinner with wife! I have a few additions I need to make and some mods to add but this is great. I will be back to the forum I'm sure. Thank you so very much!! Charles H
