QUESTION: Database Server Keeps Going Down!

Hey everyone.

 

The hosting company that I am currently using has had its database server has go down twice within the last week. The first time it was down for almost 2 days. Now it is down again. I am on hold for tech support. ARGH!!! :angry: I am still finalizing this site but did backup the Database before it went down again. This is for a very good client of mine. They understand that this is out of my control but how difficult is it to move to a new hosting company if it gets to that point? Do I have to do a new install?

 

I have used this hosting company for many years and have never had any issues but this is the first time I have used a database with them.

not difficult at all, no do not have to do a new install. i have done this numerous times, majority of the time it takes is copying the code, etc. however if you have shell access to both, makes it a piece of cake!
