blr044 Posted April 6, 2008 Posted April 6, 2008 Just a few words to explain, I am somewhat color blind. So matching one color to another so as not blind anyone or to make a web page that is pleasing to look at. I have browsed numerous web sites out there regarding color scheme color wheels. Many of them out there just sis not make the grade. So am asking for your thoughts or opinions or my web page store. Or even if anyone knows of a decent site out there that might be a good resource. Thanks in advance. blr044

For the info box headings, I would make the same as the background that you have for the first upcoming products line. What colours are you colourblind to, the usual red and green?
♥toyicebear Posted April 6, 2008 Posted April 6, 2008 Ok implementation of the standard layout, the colors are a bit bright but are matched well. The only other thing color wise which springs to mind is that the box shadows does not match the background. Guest Posted April 7, 2008 Posted April 7, 2008 Hi Bennett, Your "Here are a few reasons to shop here..." at the bottom of pages I looked at filled empty space with positive verbage. The boxless GoDaddy SSL Logo unbalances the page. Make it look the same, like a box. You have one currency so drop the currency box. I did read about your color blindness. Even so, I will state that it seems like the button colors really don't fit in. I am unsure how to explain what I mean. Its like they are in the gold color spectrum but should be in the yellow or orange spectrums. On the front page it is loudly proclaimed, "Free Shipping On All Orders". This is in stark contrast to what is stated on FAQ and Shipping. Change your front page to match, "Free Shipping On All Orders over $175.00". Sorta a truth in advertising thing. I would say you have a unique color scheme. It grabs attention without necessarily being too hard to look upon. I saw you had a page "Out of Stock". I tried searching for one of those items and was unable to locate it. I am correct in my understanding that an item does not display when it out of stock? I realized I hadn't signed up for an account yet. Doing so now. You have United States as the default country (expected from a US store). The problem I have is that I am also a US resident but have never heard we had any of the following states: A Corua, Aargau, Alberta, or Berlin amongst others. Sounds like a problem all the zones were selected. Good luck and have a great day.
futuremillions Posted April 7, 2008 Posted April 7, 2008 I looked at your specials and say the following: Retail Price: $14.95 Your Price: $6.83 Sale Price: $11.00 You Save: $3.95 One of those does not belong! I am guessing it's the "your price". I would be inclined to think that is the price that you are paying (wholesale) and then I wouldn't want to buy. If at first you don't succeed, restore your backup files!

I went back to his store and the items that do not belong on this page are >> Retail Price: Sale Price: You Save: This is a discount store and the "Retail Price: Sale Price: You Save: " is a gimmick to try and get people to purchase. The $6.83 is the specials prices, but there looks to be a contribution conflict. When you look on specials.php about half the items are marked down and half are marked up. Regularly $34.43 but buy today for $52.77. This is really funny when it is someone else's site. LOL
blr044 Posted April 8, 2008 Author Posted April 8, 2008 Appreciate the great comments. I took the comments and made some corrections. The prices threw me off. I think it had to do with MRSP contributions. Because with specials and MRSP, I had to do the price changes manually. so for now, MSRP is disabled. Till I have time to think what I am going to do. Due to the fact this is a discount online store. Again, thank you for looking. blr044
