Guest Posted April 5, 2008 Posted April 5, 2008 Hi people, Every time i make any kind of change in the languages/english/index.php file i get a parse error!?! At first i thought it was a syntax error, but now Im sure it isnt. for example; i can open it up and delete say the letter's' from the text 'This is a default setup of osCommerce Online....' save it and i will get the parse error, if i change it back i still get the parse eroor and have to delete the script and replace with the original. Any ideas from anywhere? Any help appreciated! With all the tips so far i have gotten this far!!! http://products.herbalhaze.co.uk/shop/

Jan Zonjee Posted April 5, 2008 Posted April 5, 2008 I was using the Oscommerce file manager editor...is that the prob? I always understood it is bad to use it. Instead ftp the file to your computer, edit it with a (real) text editor and then upload it again is the best way. Actually, the best way is to develop locally and then upload everything. Then you a. have a backup and b. you don't have to start screaming here HELP, HELP I TRIED TO [....] AND NOW MY SHOP IS BROKEN, HELP HELP I'M LOSING CUSTOMERS because you can test things out safely
