tank79 Posted April 5, 2008 Posted April 5, 2008 so i thought id ask, Im in the process of setting up my site and have got to the backup part i have changes permisions on admin/backup to 777 as needed however im getting this error message Warning: file_exists() [function.file-exists]: open_basedir restriction in effect. File(/usr/bin/gzip) is not within the allowed path(s): (/home/:/usr/lib/php:/tmp) in /home/a2241844/public_html/admin/backup.php on line 443 Free Web Hosting PHP Error Message Warning: file_exists() [function.file-exists]: open_basedir restriction in effect. Hi jan Thanks for the info, the only problem is in a complete novice. i dont fully inderstand what im looking at, as im still learning how do i change it without casusing errors. thelast time i changed something i had to start completely from scratch and i realy dont wanna have to again, sorry for being a pain but if you could explain in novice terms that would really help me. thanks John
