CVV Switch and Meastro Credit Card in the UK

Hi all,

I hope there is someone who can help with some or all of these problems!!

 

We need to add CVV collection to our shop, post 10 November 2002 with the new checkout.

Also Switch cards need to be accepted (and Meastro).

 

Has anyone in the UK succesfully achieved this?

 

Thanks for any input, and yes I have searched the forum, but found no answers, the contribution on this is out of date on this release.

I only did the CVV collection part as I thought there was already a contribution for the Switch card. I now see from the other thread that it no longer works on the new checkout. :( Would have a look at the code for that contribution, but since I have no idea what a Switch or Meastrto card is, I would probably have a hard time checking to see if any modifications actually worked. You know us Americans...if it doesn't effect us we don't care about it. :wink:

I have been hacking your cvv contribution to get switch/solo card support, which I have 90% done.

 

Switch/Solo cards need additional info to be stored, namely a Start Date and an Issue Number (a two digit number).

 

My hack isn't exactly elegant, but it does what I need it to. If anyone wants to know what I did, feel free to email me.

 

When I get time I can look into making this into a new contribution, perhaps.

 

Incidentally, if anyone wants to update an old payment contribution (pre-November checkout procedure) to the new checkout, I found it easier to start from another current payment module and build in the required changes, rather than trying to amend the old module. The changes in the new checkout are too widespread for the latter technique to work. This is probably not the case for other types of contribution, though.

For the data collection part you should just be able to search each of the files in the CVV 1.21 for the term "cvv" and then just add a similar text for both a start date and the issue number. Add corresponding fields to the DB and you should be all set, unless there are other issues that need to be dealt with. As you mentioned, I would think building off of new payment module contributions on how to pass that info along would be the best idea.
