Guest Posted May 4, 2008 Posted May 4, 2008 maybe this is why: RegisterFly is a New Jersey (U.S.) based internet hosting and domain name registrar that had their ICANN-accredited status terminated in March 2007 http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/RegisterFly nothing saying a company can't recover from something like this... but that's pretty significant and i could never trust them with anything of mine. never dealt with them before, thankfully :)

I have two domain names registered with them. Should I move them to GoDaddy.com and use GoDaddy's merchant account? Thanks for somebody finally giving me some answer. Steve I appreciate all the help that everyone on this site has given me!
Guest Posted May 16, 2008 Posted May 16, 2008 considering it was one of the founders that did all of that stuff, the company has made some pretty poor judgment calls in the past, and it looks as though they're not a "legitimate" registrar anymore, so i wouldn't have anything to do with them. this alone would cause me to run and never look back: There were allegations of fraud dating back to 2005, including reports RegisterFly had suspended customer accounts and domain names in retaliation for complaints about overcharging. i'm surprised after all of this, they're still allowed to operate. and you can read abit about this debacle on one of their customers (probably former customer) website: http://www.registerflies.com/ i don't know how they've been for you, but i've got all of my domains registered through godaddy. no idea how good godaddy's merchant account is.
easyasabchost Posted May 17, 2008 Posted May 17, 2008 If ICANN has terminated them, then i would say MOVE . This is the first step in the Internet world closing this company down, as other associates etc. will now be deciding to pull out.
