Glittergirl29301
I am a NEWBIE, I bet you guys couldn't have guessed that, lol Here is a run down on what I have done (tried to do) I built a site in iWeb Used the FTP Fetch to get it to ipower.com (that only took 3 days to figure out) now I am trying to get osCommerce installed and lets just say I haven't moved off the couch in about 7 hours... I go to the page that says: osCommerce - Installation First, select or create the Domain you want to install to: To install to a subdomain, you must first create the subdomain by going to the Subdomain Pointingpage I select the domain that my site and index folder is in... and go to the next page. Now, decide on the installation path: I choose to put it in the root directory http://mydomain.ipower.com/home/user/web/b...in/public_html/ just like it shows for me to do... then i get this osCommerce installed successfully. You can visit your new osCommerce installation at http://mydomain.ipower.com/http:/mydomain....in/public_html/ BUT.... When I click on the link or go to it thru install Central I get this page I pasted below... I have cleared out my browser and emptied my Caches Can someone Please Please Please help me. I have been working on this site for a week non-stop, like 20 hours a day, my dogs just look at me like I have lost my mind when I scream at the computer... I am a newbie, I have a Web Development Certificate, where I took a class, LOL ROTFLMAO... Ha Ha Ha That certificate and $1.25 will get you a Pepsi, if you are lucky! Guest
Your problem is the directory where you are trying to install it to. All you have to put, at the most is a / and osC will do the rest. As you see where it did install was http://mydomain.ipower.com/http:/mydomain....in/public_html/ You typed in the part http://mydomain.ipower.com/home/user/web/b...in/public_html/ Which is not needed. So ... if you just put a / for the directory you would have had it in http://mydomain.ipower.com/ which is where you want it to be. Uninstall and start over. Glittergirl29301
This is what is says when I just put in "/" Warning: '/home/users/web/b2377/ipw.tantats/public_html/' already exists! This may be ok, but if you install multiple applications into the same directory, the potential of source files from one application overwriting a file of the same name from another application exists. Generally, the safest approach is to install each application into its own, dedicated directory. If you really want to install to this directory, check the confirm box in the form below. Otherwise, change the installation path to a directory that's not already in use. Now, decide on the installation path: Your problem is the directory where you are trying to install it to.
