Help! I messed up my oscommerce by installing a module!

I was trying to install the cvv2 module

http://www.oscommerce.com/community/contri...all/search,cvv2

It did not work properly.. and i completely deleted and restored my sql database..

well I messed it up I guess because when I go to Modules > payment

I only see authorize.net and credit card. All the other default options I was using like paypal are gone..

in addition to that my products pages are all formatted weird. I get these weird text characters now.. like this:

2.5†SATA Enclosure Â

I saved a copy of the entire store on my hard drive, and tried re-uploading it, but it doesnt make a difference. I dont understand what else I can restore? I restored my whole database, and I also restored my oscommerce files.

help please :(

Do you have a copy of the files before you made the changes? Try uploading those (because a backup of a buggy store isn't going to help).

Try deleting the credit card (includes/modules/payment/cc.php) module or whichever one you added but nothing else on the server. You can also try downloading a new copy of oscommerce and uploading an old version of cc.php.

Make sure you backup everything before you do anything.

thanks for the help.. i really appreciate it.

i tried your suggestion. when i delete "cc.php" entirely, then all i see under payments is "authorize.net"

if I add any version of cc.php to the server, then i see both "authorize.net" and "credit card"

but none of the other options <_<

The problem probably lies in the next file under cc.php (looks like chronopay.php in RC2a). Try removing that file from the server and see if the rest of the payment modules show up. I've found that if there is an error in one payment module then not only will that module not be listed but it also prevents any of the payment modules in files that alphabetically follow it from being listed.

If removing chronopay.php (or whichever payment module follows cc.php on your server) solves the problem then either replace it with your known good backup copy or leave it off if you don't use it.
