Installion Issue - Find Page Errors

Went through the installation process as was posted/came with shopping cart software, but was surprised to find I had a non-working store at the end. I've customized my colors and other stylesheet information as a wanted, changed and check the permissions on the folders accordingly, and have manual found and opened the files in question on the server. My specific problem deals with the create_account.php and login.php files. I receive a 404 Page Not Found error whenever I attempt to use the link on the main page of the store. As I mentioned though, these files do in fact exist and are operational if clicked from the server cPanel files. I can also manually type in the URL to the address bar to access them.

I'm not fluent or fully understanding of PHP, so I'll need specific instructions if anyone out there can be of assistance. I did notice that when you place the mouse on the links to the pages in question, in the status bar there appears the page address needed, but it is followed by "?osCsid=[insert large combination of numbers and letters]". I don't know if that means anything, but the address without that additional information works fine.

Any insight or assistance would be much appreciated.

I'm new here because I have the exact same problem. My store was previously set up and running, then my host did the switch to PHP5. Lost my original index page and it was replaced with the default page, create account and log in did not work, plus lost all of the neat icons I had set up for the store. Then I upgraded to Online Merchant 2.2 RC2a, still have the same issues.

My web master's wife told him he had to get a "real" job a while back, and now I have to try to figure this out my self, which is becoming a very humbling experience. This forum has been very helpful in helping work through things.

Here's the link to my catalog, http://jvgallery.com/catalog/

Looks just like Luxsphink's page, but when I click on the "log yourself in", it comes up with a server not found page saying firefox cant find the server at. Looks like it doesn't even know to go to somewhere on the site.

The following is in the address bar:

When i click on the "create new account", it come up with a server not found page saying firefox can't find the server at.

The following is in the address bar:

With Internet Explorer is goes to the Cannot find server page with the same info in the address bar.

Am hoping the fix for Luxsphink's problem will be the same as mine.
