Dynamic Navigation

I'm trying to create a custom drop-down navigation for OsCommerce that is dynamic, but so far to no avail.

 

Currently I am manually updating the header.php file whenever I add a new product, but I want to be able to do a db query that grabs all the products from a certain category id.

 

For example: If I had a category called "Tools", the tools category would be a drop down menu that displays only the products in the tools category.

 

I already have the css drop down menu made up and need a little help grabbing products that fall under a certain category id.

 

Any help would be greatly appreciated!
