ianric
Hi Germ or anyone else In this post Germ said What do you want the whole catalog to be in SSL mode for? Google doesn't index ANY SSL pages. I'm not sure about other engines. I've searched and searched and tried every solution (apart from the right one) to get rid of the dreaded "secure and non secure" message when I logged in as a test user on my site. I even deleted code and images inc Paypal that could have been causing it but I still got the message. Even the solution in the knowledge base didn't work. In the end, I gave up and asked my hosts to check if the SSL cert was installed correctly. They said yes and made the whole site secure. So, going back to Germs' quote, I know my site is out there because I had my first order over easter, not sure where they found me tho, and I have searched for my items and they are picked up, not many tho. Can some kind person Visit My Website and have a look round. It's probably something simple that I've missed Like I said, I didn't want to hijack another thread with a different but similar topic Many thanks Ian
Guest
Ian, I didn't see a partially unsecured pages. You might want to get your GeoTrust seal to work properly. I couldn't click through. Looks good. Peace.--Chris
ianric
Ian, I didn't see a partially unsecured pages. You might want to get your GeoTrust seal to work properly. I couldn't click through. Looks good. Peace.--Chris Hi Thanks for the quick reply and comments. If I remember correctly, the Geotrust seal was just supposed to be an image. I'll check that out. Let me rephrase my problemette. The unsecured error doesn't show because my hosts made the whole site secure. As soon as you hit my site it goes to https. I know it shouldn't but it should when you log in. The unsecure error was happening after you log in and was redirected back to the main index.php. It's the dialog box error at this stage that I couldn't fix. germ
Hello Ian I'm with Scott, in the fact I cruised all over your site and didn't get the "non secure" popup once. After I got to your site, I manually changed the link in the address bar to HTTP, then waited for the page to load. Then I'd click on a link (all your links are SSL), and wait for that page to load. Go back to the address bar and make it HTTP. Reload the page. Then click on something else. So, I was constantly going from non-SSL to SSL, and it all worked flawlessly. The only way to do this is just jump in and try it. If you want to work with me on this, make a backup of your /includes/configure.php file and store it in a safe place. Then post the contenst of it (between CODE tags to preserve formatting please). BE ADVISED THERE MAY BE 5 OR 6 LINES AT THE BOTTOM OF THE FILE THAT HAVE DATA YOU DON'T WANT TO POST (USERNAME AND PASSWORD FOR YOUR DB ACCESS). JUST LEAVE THOSE LINES OUT, OR REPLACE THE "SENSITIVE" DATA WITH X'S. If I suggest you edit any file(s) make a backup first - I'm not perfect and neither are you.
