Suddenly can't log in: Admin Session Expired (always)

Hello all,

 

Suddenly I can no longer login to the admin section of oscommerce (fortunatly only on my dev site). Strangely, I hadn't changed anything but I was browsing orders and I got bounced to the Admin Session Expired, please login page -- a fairly common occurance (It happens whenever I accidently doubleclick a link in the admin panel and with the trackpad it happens often). But now, Everytime I log in I get bounced right back to the the Admin Session Expired page.

 

I cleared my browser cache which made no difference.

It happens in both FireFox and Safari.

 

Any ideas what is happening or any leads on where to start looking.

After a couple of hours I figured out that the session table in the MySQL database was marked as crashed. I repaired it and my login problems have been solved. What causes a MySQL table to crash? Guess I do some reading.

What causes a MySQL table to crash?

The table sessions is constantly changing, updating, deleting entries so the biggest chance something goes wrong there (especially when the server is working hard).
