Okay I might state the obvious...

Did you try changing the file

catalog/stylesheet.css

That's where colors for infoboxes, etc... are defined.

This will center your store as well as put a border around it. Just change the bgcolor to whatever you want to suit your store. It will change the border colour. The cellspacing will change the thickness of the border and the table width the width of the store centered.

For example of the background you can view my site (although my background is an image)

To change the background colour you will need to change that in your catalog/stylesheet.css

Just add this to catalog/includes/header.php

//begin center shop

print ('<table width="890" border="0" align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="1" bgcolor="#A35400">

<tr>

<td bgcolor="#FFE6CC">');

//end center shop

Place it at the top so it looks like this:

<?php

/*

$Id: header.php 1739 2007-12-20 00:52:16Z hpdl $

//begin center shop

print ('<table width="890" border="0" align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="1" bgcolor="#A35400">

<tr>

<td bgcolor="#FFE6CC">');

//end center shop

// check if the 'install' directory exists, and warn of its existence

if (WARN_INSTALL_EXISTENCE == 'true') {

if (file_exists(dirname($HTTP_SERVER_VARS['SCRIPT_FILENAME']) . '/install')) {

Thank you Ausgirl!

I tried as you recommended and it works great with a little acception, my footer is messed up now, basically my footer doesn't display correctly at all

Do you know if I should add any settings to footer.php?

I like this forum, people are kind to share informations with others like me who need help.

I would not figure it out by myself

Many thanks again to you!

My great respect to all who share information here on this forum.

No, nothing in the footer, you've probably placed it in the wrong spot.

Make sure you place directly under this line of code:

<?php

/*

$Id: header.php 1739 2007-12-20 00:52:16Z hpdl $

ADD THE CENTER SHOP CODE HERE!

Ausgirl,

I did placed as you recommended but my footer is messed up, so I am going to re-design it step by step again maybe there is something that doesn't like it.

Thanks for your input.

Try adding it a little further down around line 12 or 13 see what that does. It shouldnt cause any errors, not sure why it does. Check that you have placed it in the right file. Catalog/includes/header.php

What kind of error is in your footer?
