kripto
Do you know if there is a limit on queries or products you can have on OSCommerce? For example.. If I need a store for 10,000 daily queries (product browsing) and 500 online daily purchases with up to 500,000 articles in the catalog, can OSC handle it or it depends on the database I use? What do you recommend for this transaction volume? Thanks!
Jack_mcs
It depends on the server and on how the calls are spread out. A shared server could handle that much if the calls were spread out over 24 hours (416 queries per hour). But they occurred in an eight hour window, the server would most likely fail. Either way, I suspect a dedicated server would be needed since the above is best case. shooter-boy
Yeah, it doesn't really come down to osC, but the server. It wouldn't matter what cart system you used, high volume sites of that level need dedicated servers more often than not.
