Jaide Posted March 30, 2008 Posted March 30, 2008 Hi everyone, It's been a few months since I last posted on my store, EZDecal.com. Any new comments, suggestions, ideas? Thank you to those who give feedback :).
Guest Posted March 30, 2008 Posted March 30, 2008 Good Evening Jaide, The first thing that struck me when I entered you site was the size of the header area. In my browser, after status and toolbars are considered, I have have 7 and 1/2 inches of vertical viewable screen. The header section of your site including breadcrumb bar occupies 4 and 5/8 inches on my browser screen. And then, for example when I got to Hearts & Stars, you would only display 8 of 15 items. To me it feels like the pages are all header. One of my pet peeves with stores is when the information pages fail to tell about the company and location. As a consumer I don't buy from sites that have a problem with telling me who or where they are. You passed that test nicely. Kudos on a secure contact us form. Creating an account was easy. Nice thank you. After I clicked continue and was brought to index.php, I was now facing a header that occupied 6 and 1/8 inches. Please make the header section smaller. I am not a fan of fixed width sites, but that is another issue. I like how you greyed the payment images. Matches the theme. Other than the points mentioned above, the style of site seems nice. The colors seem to blend nicely. The site features seems to function okay. Your rotating decal thingy in the header is good.
digilee Posted March 30, 2008 Posted March 30, 2008 It's that template again! :) SolarFrenzy Solar powered gadgets at down to earth prices. CheekyNaughty Promoting British Design
desiredin Posted March 30, 2008 Posted March 30, 2008 Your shipping pages, and your FAQ pages tell absolutely nothing about your shipping prices other than free shipping in the U.S. on orders over $15. You don't mention how one can find out how much it will cost. I assume during checkout it will say? If that is the case, you are asking your potential customers to go through a lot to find out if they think your shipping charges are fair. The only time I even sign up for a profile, and get through the checkout process to see what shipping is going to cost me, is if that particular product is exclusive to that shop. Otherwise, I'll continue my shopping elsewhere. Afterall, every-other shop on the planet is just a few mouse-clicks away. P.S. Can you get an Atari logo decal? I would simply love one. Provided shipping charges are fair of course. Heh. ;)

During checkout it says: Flat Rate (USPS Priority Mail, Flat Rate Envelope): $4.95 Atari logo: Yes. We can pretty much do anything... even your own designs if you are creative ;) It's that template again! Is someone else using the same? I'd like to see it if that's what you mean? DCPhosting: I recently took the header that said 'free shipping' / 'ezbucks' and put it above the content instead of below. Would that help if I switched it back?
Guest Posted April 1, 2008 Posted April 1, 2008 Hi Jaide, Yes, it would. The 'free shipping' / 'ezbucks' is 1-3/8" of prime space above the fold. With it moved, I can almost see 2 rows of product display, effectively doubling what is shown to your customers. (I looked at the Home Page in both FireFox and Opera.)
