Problem in sending two messages after order

Recommended Posts

Hi,

I have installed an option to send an additional message in the E-mail Options of My Store in Admin.

Well, the idea is that I want to receive an e-mail informing about each order, which would be sent along with the message to the customer.

The reality is that the systems works well when directing the messages (the main one to the customer and the additional one to my webmail) to Hotmail, Yahoo, etc. But, and to my dismal, it does not work at all when using the webmail of the host.

I have tried different combinations in the configuration, which is:

E-Mail Transport Method .............. smtp

E-Mail Linefeeds ............. LF

Use MIME HTML When Sending Emails ............ false

Verify E-Mail Addresses Through DNS ............. false

Send E-Mails .................. true

…with no results, for the message does not appear in the system.

I have seen that other users have had the same problem, and after having consulted a diversity of posts and options, with no result either, I am convinced that this problem must have its origin in the configuration of the e-mail system of OSCOMMERCE.

Perhaps, some of you might give me a clue about the subject.

Thanks very much.

If the email transport is set to SMTP, the linefeed parameter must be CRLF.

Your hosting company may have the email server configured to require SMTP authenication to send email to a local address and not require authenication to send to a foreign domain (it sounds strange and backwards, but I've seen it). If they do, you will need to add either the phpmail contribution or the SMTP password authenication contribution.

The problem that the system fails to send the message to absolutely any foreign address different from Hotmail, Yahoo, etc.

Not just when I proceed in relating to a local address, what could be due to the authentication matter.

If your website is having problems sending email to the local domain, it may be an authentication issue as I described before.

If I understand correctly, your website is sending emails to hotmail and yahoo accounts, but there are other foreign domains that it is not sending email to.

Is there a chance that your domain name and/or hosting company domain name has been blacklisted? This might explain why email to some domains work and others do not.

The solution is that you must set the e-mail options this way:

E-Mail Transport Method smtp

E-Mail Linefeeds CRLF

...and not Linefeeds LF, as before. In this other case, the system fails to send the message.

Thanks everybody.
