Install Stopped. Won't accept IP or Hostname. Help.

OS Commerce is uploaded and I went to my site and started the install. I had already created database, user name and password. I am starting the setup procedure and the first things it wants is:

 

Hostname or IP Address of the Dataserver

 

Username, Password and Database name.

 

I have filled all these in and it keeps saying can't find the hostname. I have tried the IP address and I have tried the server website name. I called them and they said the only thing I should need is the IP of the server and It doesn't work. I saw in some forums to put in the word "localhost" and tried that also. Can anyone help me? I have been stumped for 2 days on this and with 4 phone calls to my host?
