macdonald_design Posted March 27, 2008 Posted March 27, 2008 Is it possible to put a static "buy now" button with a quantity field on static html pages which adds the item to the cart? I have searched through the documentation and cannot find this questions/answer anywhere. Any help would be much appreciated. Newbie note: I already tried to search for this on the forum but the word limitations on this forum (html, button, ...) made my searches impossible.
usernamenone Posted March 28, 2008 Posted March 28, 2008 You can do that but it will not work :'( If you need a less complex cart and if you want to take paypal as your only payment then search PayPal buy now buttons or shopping cart buy now buttons.

I am not asking about a PayPal buy now button. I have a merchant account with Authorize.net. Here's my scenario: I am moving away from a hosted cart to a local cart. I just don't want to have to make all of my sites pages into php pages. It will disrupt my current content management solution. And, I need to know a few things before I choose oscommerce as my solution, which I would like to do. To carefully rephrase my question: Can I post from a non-php page using a standard html form on my website and add an item to the oscommerce cart hosted on my website?
usernamenone Posted March 29, 2008 Posted March 29, 2008 The answer is no......... oscommerce need php and its shopping to function and allow your shoppers to buy and check out. There is a simple template system STS in the contributions section but I found customizing my cart much easier that the other way around.
