writing to configuration file

After my install, when I click on 'catalog', this warning comes up in pink at the top of the page.

Warning: I am able to write to the configuration file: /home/inter/public_html/catalog/includes/configure.php. This is a potential security risk - please set the right user permissions on this file.

Does anyone know how to fix it, what should be written and where please?

Thank you.

Huh ho,

Just done that and now it says:

Warning: mysql_connect() [function.mysql-connect]: Access denied for user 'inter'@'localhost' (using password: NO) in /home/inter/public_html/catalog/includes/functions/database.php on line 19

Unable to connect to database server!

And I can't see my shop front even though I changed both PHP's back.

Any ideas much appreciated.

Thanks

you did not need to download the file to change permissions (if you did)

the error message is saying that the database is not being found so if you have not added anything to your store i would start again and do a reinstall

Cheers Mark,

I have changed quite a bit on the store but it is a learning curve so I could reinstall I suppose.

How do you change permissions without downloading the file?

I work with Dreamweaver, so I suppose every time I update a file it is overwriting the one on the server...err I think

yes it is overwriting if you have the check box in the ftp setup to upload on save checked

depending on what version of dreamweaver you are using you can right click the file in the remote server and set permissions in the box that pops up

Tried that Mark but it doesn't work.

The version I am using is 2004.

Will have to do a re-install

Cheers for your help and advice though, much appreciated.
