database test failure

Hi all

 

I am trying to get past the database test stage and cannot seem to find out why this error is happening, the error is

 

"Can't connect to local MySQL server through socket '/var/lib/mysql/mysql.sock' (2)"

 

I am using localhost as the database address

 

any help would be appreciated

Either mySQL is not running or you do not have access to it.

 

Check with your hosting service.

I have checked and i have access to the database, i can log in and out of it through myphp without any problems
