oscommerce.sql

Ok the install went thru without a problem right up until I tried going into the admin section and it showed a whole novel of database errors.

Went into phpmyadmin and took a look and it only imported a few of the tables, so I went in and manually imported them.....

Big surprise a whole new list of problems. What I seem to have been able to narrow it down to is upon importing the oscommerce.sql file it appears that it will not read every single quote in that file. With the aid of an enormous amount of coffee I set out and removed all the single quotes in the file and actually eventually got it to import all the tables finally.

Yet another big surprise, when it gets to processing the INSERT INFO configuration section it will not accept the single quotes or spaces (i.e. The name of my store), so again I set out to take them all out and then it tells me that

#1054 - Unknown column 'Store_Name' in 'field list'

So now I am completely lost, I know it should require that I edit almost every line in this file.

Please search these forums for "1054 error".

Yeah ok I already tried that and all I found was maybe one or two tables here and there, not problem with the entire file.

Could it be because this newest version is compatible with MySQL 5???

Is there a version for use with ver 4 that I should be using?
