what should I check or configure?

thank you

Hi, I don't think my original oscommerce shop came with this ability. I can't remember now. Anyway, I have done an upgrade. It has been a little while, but I am pretty sure it was this one:

http://addons.oscommerce.com/info/824

Plus it looks like there has been updates since when I did it, so it is probably even better now. I guess download and install the latest full package 3.4 on 1/28/08. That should do it.

Hope this helps! Post back if that is not what you were asking about.

You should then go back thru your install and check to make sure all steps were done. I am attaching a screen shot (modified with some info cuts of course) of my admin screen of my website that has the install done- Click Here Yours should look similar.

I will not be available probably much of the day now, but will check back later when I can and see if there is anything else I can help you with. In the mean time, maybe someone else can help you. Also, if it is this particular contribution that you installed and are having trouble with I would check to see if there is already a thread for it and read thru it or if you can't find the answer there post your problem there. I have also had some success at doing a google search for the answer to my problems. Try searching for this something like "oscommerce who's online shopping cart" and see what you get or try similar wording and see if anyone else has the same problem to learn from. Sorry, this is probably not much help, but it is all I have right at the moment.

Best Wishes!

Hi Leslie, my install just looks the same, I think it could be related to session parameters since contribution's readme says:

If your carts don't display, check the setting of STORE_SESSIONS in both includes/configure.php and admin/includes/configure.php. They should match. If not, carts will not display.

I checked this and it's ok, 'mysql' is the value

that's all for the moment :S

Hi, I just checked mine and confirmed that is what mine has in both as well 'mysql'

I just wanted to clarify for myself as to your problem. The way I am understanding it is that you see Shopping Cart on the right of your admin screen, but when you log in as a "customer" and put something in your shopping cart, it does not show up?

If you have doubled checked that you have done all of the instructions on the install, I am not sure what else to check at the moment. I have to go for now. I will check back later.

Keep looking, you will find the answer.

anybody? :(

Oh Hi,

It is me again. I am sorry for not out right knowing the answer as I am not one of those oscommerce gurus, but since none of them have chimed in, I thought I would try to help. Anyway, the only suggestion I can think of right now is that hopefully you made a backup of your files prior to the changes for the contribution. Always, Always back-up!!!! Have you tried uploading the original who's_online.php file to see if the shopping carts show then? If so, I would then use a file compare tool to check to see what is different between the 2 files and hopefully something about the differences will give you a clue as to why they do not show with the upgraded one.

I have never personally had this problem and I did a quick google search for it with no luck as well.

Hope that helps!

Gee, not much can go wrong with installing this add on (Who's Online 3.4). Replacing files and running an sql file.

If that has been done, maybe you are not using an ftp program to copy the files to your webspace.

WOL will work with register globals on but NOT with register globals OFF. That's the problem.

Don't know about that, I have register globals off on my wampserver with (Who's Online 3.4) and it still shows the shopping cart.

I believe that's a Windows machine. I have FreeBSD Apache 1.9 and PHP 4.3 with globals off no carts. Global on and cart contents show up.
