Shipping Modules not working!

I have no idea what to do and everything I find when searching on here doesnt make sense to me. I guess at this point, if I could enter the price I want for shipping in the weight table of each product, that would be waaay easier Since I cant get it to calculate shipping by the actual weight in lbs that I enter on each product. It keeps saying shipping is 5 dollars even for a 70 pound item! What do I do?

Hi,

What shipping modules do you have installed or activated in your admin panel?

Post back with this info so we can have a better idea of how to help you. Also, if you post your website url, that would be helpful if you want to share it.

Hi,

I have "per item" and "table rate" turned on right now. "Flat rate" was enabled by default from the installation buy I turned it off. I'm going to be shipping primarily with UPS, and it would be nice to be able to have accurate shipping quotes with it if possible instead of having to just have a flat rate for each item. The URL for the store is www.autobahnexotics.com/store if that helps.

Thanks!

I am not an oscommerce guru and I don't use the table rate with weight shipping, but I will try to help. First do both your shipping modules have a different sort number? Make sure that you have one set at "1" and the other set at "2". Also, have you tried turning the price per item one off just to see if the table rate functioned differently?

Also, I wonder if you have the table rate module set up correctly. I am adding a screen shot of what it should look like for an example. By the way I am not using any templates or upgrades that effect shipping on the oscommerce site I am using to test this module for you. If you have installed a template which I do not think you have by looking at your site, that may be affecting things. I will assume you are not. Have a look at this screen shot: Admin -> Modules -> Shipping ->Table Rate

The way this is set up is that any item with a weight up to 25 lbs. (I am in America) or whatever your weight measurement is set up for would be charged $8.50 (again American, I believe you have pounds), then any item above 25 and up to 50 would be charged $5.50 and any item over 10000 is free. This is the stock set up that came with my install. I just realized too that I am using an older version maybe or a different one then you so your screens and functions may be different then mine.

Look over the screen shot to see if yours is any different besides the obvious currency and weight differences.

Anyway, check into these few things that I have suggested and see if anything comes from it. Please post back your findings and we can go from there. Also, post with any upgrades or contributions you have installed if any that might effect the shipping modules.
