Is there a way to select the 'New Products'

This may be an Add-on or Contribution - If so, any direction is greatly appreciated.

I would like to choose the items displayed in the New Products Section (somewhat simialar to the Specials work)-

Is this possible? I've searched around, but haven't come across anything that that is 100%.

Again, If so, any direction is greatly appreciated.
