seome Posted March 25, 2008 Posted March 25, 2008 Hi Folks, I installed CCGV(trad) carefully as per instructions, but am getting a lot of errors both in the admin and in the front end of the site. It's confusing because CCGV(Trad) of all the gift vouchers modules appears the most stable as per peoples reports on deploying the module. I am confident that I have installed everything accurately as per the directions, so I tend to think that perhaps it is a buggy module? As a PHP developer, I am inclined to start to go through what appears to be a fairly arduous task debugging and repairing the module. However, there is a bit inthe instructions that says the SQL must be loaded with phpmyadmin. It says "this is not optional." I installed the SQL using MySQL query browser. It seems unlikely that this could have any negative impact whatsoever, but I thought I'd mention it incase anyone has any relevant information. CCGV is a major aspect of the site that I am working on, so before I roll up my sleeves and begin working through the code, does anyone have any useful advice, or have an idea of why the module is appearing to be so buggy? I have installed on teh current MS2.2, I am currently working on XAMPP for windows that is apache, php 5 and mysql 5. I have installed CCGV to a premodified osc so I had to go through file by file copying in new code and modifying existing code. I did this wiht great care. Any advice will be greatly appreciated! seome Posted March 26, 2008 Author Posted March 26, 2008 CCGV has always been buggy and a PITA to install. Which is a reason why I made this: http://addons.oscommerce.com/info/5743 Thanks for your help. It's really appreciated. Is this totally separate to the CCGV(trad)? If so I'll have to go through the arduous task of uninstalling it, then reinstalling your system. I am concerned, though, because the client we're developing the site for has already made extensive use of CCGV. Does your module handle all the same functionality? As good as osc is, it is one huge hack job! =) SEOME Quote
