trevorjdaniel Posted March 25, 2008 Posted March 25, 2008 Hi There, I'm new to OSC but getting along ok. I have managed to get it installed and have a shop up and running... I then went in and did a lot of configuration partly to learn about the software and partly to hopefully get a working shop up and running. I have done loads of configuaration and was happy with the shop so i then moved onto looking at customising the "look and feel" using a template... but... from what i have read, and i might be wrong, to put a new template onto my shop i have to reinstall a complete OSC with the template already embedded in it. Is this true? Isn't there a way of just uploading the template onto a working installation? If I have to reinstall, will i loose all the configuration work i have done and end back at step 1? Thanks for your help.. Trev
Jack_mcs Posted March 25, 2008 Posted March 25, 2008 You don't have to install a new shop but you can't upload the template files either. You need to compare the files from the template and only install the changes in the files. Hopefully your template only consists of the chnaged files. Otherwise you will need to go through them all. Thanks for your help.. Trev Jack is correct. You can also use STS (Simple Template System) as an alternative method for installing your template.
