Guest Posted March 25, 2008 Posted March 25, 2008 OK, my general web site, non osCommerce, is running fine. The store under catalog is slow, maybe the pictures, but now I am having trouble loading the shopping cart and checkout. I had trouble with the index for a bit today and now the checkout will not load at all and "Unable to connect to database server" shows up. How can my website service work but not the osCommerce database server? It's just a different folder on the same server, right?
Bill.Dagou Posted March 25, 2008 Posted March 25, 2008 maybe you can ask your server provider for help.
discounts4dance Posted March 26, 2008 Posted March 26, 2008 maybe you can ask your server provider for help. I think i have the same problem, my server provider is no help. They say the server is fine, my database is "too large" - It isnt that big. They say i should split my database up into multipule. Please let me know if you find a solution.
dmnalven Posted March 26, 2008 Posted March 26, 2008 Your database server doesn't even need to be on the same continent! This is what the 'net' is all about. Indeed, some of the larger ISP's have separate hosting locations with specialized crews for maintaining different services. If you would post any other specific error messages, or search these forums, you/we could determine if it is a hosting problem or oscommerce issue. For ALL problems, please review this link first -> osCommerce Knowledge Base
