pete2007 Posted March 24, 2008 Posted March 24, 2008 http://addons.oscommerce.com/info/207 Hi, I am interested in adding manual metatags to most of my webpages but ideally would like to have another module to look after my product pages, so that the search engines can crawl my updated products. My question is, is it advisible to have 2 metatag modules running side-by-side? Also what module is recommended (rated the best) to run for my product pages? Any help or advice would be most appreciated! Quote
Jack_mcs Posted March 24, 2008 Posted March 24, 2008 Header Tags will allow you to control the titles and meta tags of any page of your shop so there is no reason to use two. pete2007 Posted March 29, 2008 Author Posted March 29, 2008 This one. Jack I have just installed this mod, and its working great! Just a few questions: - I installed another module called "Search Engine Friendly URL's" which allows the page name to be search engine friendly, therefore the page under different catagories is called a name example: Was: http://www.yoursite.com/product_info.php?c...p;products_id=1 Now: televisions.html Is it possible to use the Header Tag Module on this URL? - I have a few red highlighted page within Header Tags admin section, what is the code I have to place on each page? Thanks in advance! Quote
Jack_mcs Posted March 29, 2008 Posted March 29, 2008 That contribution should pull the name from the page. As long as you have Header Tags setup correctly, it should work as you want. Jack Hi Jack, Is it possible to use the Header Tags Controller even tho the URL ends .html ? If so, do you know how to achieve this? Thanks again for your help and advice! Quote
Jack_mcs Posted March 29, 2008 Posted March 29, 2008 Header Tags doesn't have anything to do with the url, other than knowing what page it is on, but that is determined from the server so what your actual url says doesn't matter. Two of the most commonly used SEO contributions is Header Tags and Ultimate SEO, which work great together.
