Go to osCommerce admin --> Tools --> Server Info, and search for File Uploads.

The entry must say 'On', and if ti doesn't you'll have to change hosts, because osCommerce needs that feature to be on.

FTP to your website, right-click on the 'images' folder and select either "Properties" or "CHMOD" - which is displayed depends on your FTP programme.

It will tell you what the "permissions" on that folder are. They should be 755.

If they are already set to 755 then your host may require that you use 777 for the 'images' folder. This is not advisable as it is a security risk, but nevertheless some hosts have their servers set up that way.

When I click on properties, there is nothing that says "permissions". What do I do now?

This is getting quite frustrating...

Someone else installed the program for me for my store and I have no idea how to use it...but I am willing to keep trying :)

Thank you.

Someone PLEASE help me!! I don't understand why my images are not showing up. There is no "permissions" to even check when I click on properties!

What is wrong?

Someone else installed the program for me and it is taking ages for me to get my store up and going!

It says that over 900 people have clicked on it since it was installed on my website!

I am sooooo NOT a computer person and don't understand the computer language..I just need some simple, child-like instructions as to what I should do or check next...PLEASE. I am just sooo frustrated and am begging for help!

I am all alone here!

God bless whoever you are that helps me.

Becky, you do not need to be a computer person (or even a telly tubby), you just need an ftp program like filezilla (open source and free). You use it to open your web site. It will look like two lists of directories. If your store is in catalog, click on the directory to open it. You will then see the images directory. Right click on the images directory, and you should see file attributes. Click on file attributes, and let us know what you see.
