0 Stock but shows as still in stock

0 stock items show as still in stock in admin, does this not set to out of stock automatically. If not is there a way to do this and if so how :-)

 

For example a cutomer orders the last item on a product and it sets quantity to zero however it still shows as in stock ??

Should this not show as out of stock

However lets say I have over 600 items in a single category when I go into admin and list that category how do I tell which items are set to quantity zero and are actually out of stock. Lets say I want to re-order items that are out of stock but most of them with zero quantity are still showing as in stock. Do I have to look at every single item in my store to see if it's out of stock ? (1,000's of items)

In your admin you can set the store to disallow checkout if the item is out of stock

 

admin ->> Configuration - >> Stock ->> Allow Checkout (set to false)

 

That will get round the problem of your customers ordering out of stock items

Thanks thats helps my catalogue however it's in admin I am having issues. I can't tell which items are in stock or out of stock (0 quantity)because all items set to zero quantity still show as in stock in admin :-)

That helps a lot, and it's very good.

 

There are still fundamental issues with stock control and visibility in admin.

 

When in the low stock reports page you can't see what items are showing as "In Stock" So you don't know which items still need to be set to Out Of Stock in the admin page. OSC should show the quantities in the admin page product list, in each category, that way you could see what is listed as out of stock and what is listed as in stock but with 0 quantity. etc.
