Shared SSL

you (generally) don't have to put duplicate files on to another physical server in order for it to be secure.

If you surf to https://secure.myprovider.com/myname/, do you see your website? If so, all you need to do is change the SSL references in your includes/configure.php files.

Otherwise, search the forum. There are detailed instructions on what files you need to be secure and how to path to them.

There is a really good step by step installation guide at: http://www.oscdox.com

Suggest you down load it and read it....It will answer 95% of your initial questions. The other 5% have probably already been answered on the forum and you can search for a lot of great answers and advice.

I had to load the catalog on the ssl side as well, as did plenty of others here. Plenty.

Peace.

My provider initially gave me two different directories (one shared ssl, the other non-ssl). A simple note to them asking to combine the directories resolved the situation. They still have the shared ssl directory, but my non-ssl and Shared ssl are accessible in my non-ssl directory.

So, you might ask your provider to combine your directories (or, find another provider -- many good ones out there).

I won't put out my provider name, but if you want to know who they are, just send me an email.
