Guest Posted March 20, 2008 Posted March 20, 2008 Hi I have changed the chmod to 777 like it says in the knowledge centre Eg. 2. Reset the permissions on catalog/includes/configure.php to 644 (if you are still getting the warning message at the top of the page after setting this configure.php files to 644 then set the catalog/includes/configure.php file to 444 which is read only - this happens on some servers that have been updated for security reasons). 3. Set the permissions on catalog/images directory to 777 4. Set the permissions on admin/images/graphs directory to 777 5. Create the directory admin/backups and set the permissions to 777 (this is the folder to store the database backup of your store in the "Tools" section of the store admin). But it still will not let me change the files. The only way it will work is if i change every single file to 777. That is way to time consuming, there has to be a better way. I am using filezilla to change the chmod. Thanks in advance for any help.
♥Vger Posted March 20, 2008 Posted March 20, 2008 Files should not have permissions higher than 644. If you make files have Full Permisisons of 777 then you are just asking for your site to be hacked. Vger

I have been able to sort the problem out, so thanks for the advice. Del
Guest Posted March 20, 2008 Posted March 20, 2008 Hi you can use Putty to change the permissions or Used http://www.bitvise.com/tunnelier-license.html Easy GUI virtually the same as Filezilla, and sorted the permissions out is 2 seconds Hope this helps Chris
