Design313 Posted March 18, 2008 Posted March 18, 2008 Hello I can't seem to find where to post/edit text on my Store front welcome area?
Guest Posted March 18, 2008 Posted March 18, 2008 Hi There The path you need to go by is - includes/languages/english/index.php OR.... Log into your main admin panel..... Then click - Tools.... then - File Manager. You should then see a bunch of files in the main screen. Double click on the file - includes then Double click on the file - languages then Double click on the file - english (or your chosen language) You'll then see white file click once on the index.php This will bring up an edit button to you top right CLICK on the EDIT button and your there. PLEASE MAKE SURE YOU MAKE A BACKUP OF YOUR SITE BEFORE ADJUSTING ANYTHING JUST INCASE SOMETHING GOES WRONG. Good Luck Nikki

Good Luck Nikki Thanks that actually helped me, but i made a back up file via mysql, which i have no idea what that is :( I tried editing my text and now it just says HEADING_TITLE Welcome Guest! Would you like to log yourself in? Or would you prefer to create an account? TEXT_MAIN I cant seem to remove that "TEXT_MAIN" this coding is pretty hard to understand, isnt there an add-on to make this process like microsoft frontpage?

Never, ever, even after hell freezes over, use the admin filemanager for anything. PHP is text, you use a text editor to edit the file after you ftp it to your pc. Backing up your database is good, backing up your files is better before you do edits and ftp the changed files to the web.
