paypal error invoice already paid for

Please can someone help, My website has been up and running for about a year and now it has decided not to work correctly. People cant purchase anything because when they click pay in paypal it keeps saying "invoice already paid for" I'm no computer expert i think that why i'm struggling. I did see somewhere that i had to change something to correct this but i'm struggling where to do that. Desp need to get this sorted as its causing problems one lady managed to pay for something after 5 attempts, i got the email saying you have new funds but when i have gone into my account there is no payment there.

Anyones advise would be much appreciated :'(

You have deleted orders from your website, but Pay Pal uses the Order Number as part of its system - so when you re-use an order number from an order which has been deleted from your site Pay Pal just thinks it's getting a duplicate order id.

 

You need to put through a test order using the Pay By Cheque module and then go into your database via phpMyAdmin and update that order id number manually by, for example, one thousand, and then the next order that goes through your website will not have an order id that Pay Pal has seen before.

 

There are also contributions which fix this problem, by adding a prefix to Pay Pal orders.

quiock solution is make few purchases using COD.

The order numbe wil be moved and the error will be gone.

 

After this search for a code fix.
