clueless822 Posted March 17, 2008 Posted March 17, 2008 I know OsCommerce is free but I was wondering if they withhold a certain percentage per purchase. Try as I might I couldn't find an answer to this. Also, my store will be one that sells mostly downloadable products and I was wondering how to add the downloads. This too was something I couldn't find an answer to. I've installed OsCommerce via the web (EZ Host) and simply cannot figure out how to add the downloads to the cart so that when someone clicks on "buy" or "download" the product is instantly downloaded to their computer. Thank you so much for any help.

But you should really install downloads controler, or, I do believe the rc2a release is set up to better handle downloads than one you set up from your host. I havent tried it yet, but working with the code I can see there have been some changes done to the way it handles release of downloads to customers. If you would like you could set up an escrow to withhold a certain percentage of each order and then donate that back to osCommerce, otherwise there are no fees for the software or its use.
