Novice needs help in setting up the download from Catalog

I know I may not be as knowledgeable as others here but I really need to get my catalog set up and working

before Easter if possible. I have looked and looked and not knowing what to look for is making my head hurt. This is supposed to be easy. I already have my catalog set up so that I have a pic of my product and a customer can put it in the cart and use Paypal or CC to make the purchase. It then gets redirected back to my catalog after they pay, which its supposed to do, BUT there is no link to download. It says to use the link to download and they have a certain amount of time but there is no link. I know I am missing some sort of basic set up here but I simply don't know what I need to do.

 

I am not HTML literate and don't set up websites so I need a basic instruction on what to do. Or at least point me to a document that tells me step by step what to do so I can get this working.

I am stuck on the same issue. Can anyone step me through the products attributes which I thought I had configured for download? Also, I seem to hear people say the product will be gone after it is purchased; is this the case? Can several customers not download the same file without the store owner replacing the file? :'(
