newbie Question

Hello I am very new to all this and I appreciate this forum greatly. I have a couple questions I hope you will not mind answering.

1..on my home page in the center box I have box_heading_selected can you give me some ideas how to get rid of that and put some other text there?

2..my right pane seems to be missing how do i get it to appear?
