Milestone oscommerce-2.2ms2-051113 Upto Date?

I noticed that the newest download is called Merchant. Is it necessary to update from Milestone 2.2ms2-051113 to the Merchant?

 

I have several contributions installed and would hate to have to change it all.

 

Is it basically the same with just a few file changes or is it an entirely different platform and would need all files changed?

From what I have been noticing, some people have no major problems while others do.

The newest version is a Release Candidate, i.e. beta.

With hosting companies upgrading to MySQL and PHP 5 some issues seem to arise.

 

I have osCommerce v2.2 MS2 060817 install base with updates from the RC1 upgrade.html.

A few glitches happened along the way but all seems back to normal after searching the forum.

There has been security updates and bug fixes since 051113 that might be of interest.

There is one update between the 051113 and the RC1 that needs to be done. One step at a time.
