Port 1129 is blocked, transactions are still getting processed. Any ideas?

My transactions are taking along time for checkout_process to complete the sale. So I inquired with my host if port 1129 was blocked and it was. How is this

possible that transactions are still getting processed by linkpoint if my port 1129 was blocked?

 

Ok my host has now assured me that my port 1129 is now unblocked but I am still confused because somehow and somewhere in my code it has been

bypassing port 1129 for 4 years now and probably still is which is why my transactions are hangning for 3-4 mins before getting processed.

 

Does anyone has any ideas how this could happen?

 

Is there code out there that can bypass port 1129 and still process the transaction with linkpoint?
