Guest Posted December 16, 2002 Posted December 16, 2002 Hi, I was wanting some advice of what payment merchant to use for an online shop using oscommerce. THe ones included seem to only accept US dollars. Has anybody found a easily implemented system that accepts Australian currency and is also well priced. Your help is much appreciated, Alan Ball
Guest Posted December 16, 2002 Posted December 16, 2002 Hi Alan, Check out Worldpay . . . www.worldpay.com I have just gone live with Worldpay supporting Aussie dollars, US dollars, Euros and Kiwi dollars. Their starting point is 3 currencies for the initial setup and A$140 thereafter for any other currency. From memory they support some 22 world currencies. Worldpay are part of the Royal Bank of Scotland . . . hence they have solid backing. They will also repatriate the funds directly into your Aussie Bank account for about 2.50 quid a transfer. You may also want to check out Paypal who have just gone International. They plan to support Aussie dollars in the New Year or soon thereafter. PayPal are now part of eBay and have some 17million users on their books in the USA. Paypal will also TT funds directly back to your Aussie Bank account. If you are still aboard . . . you can check my implementation at: www.mobimarketing.com Master your Mobile! Cheers Alistair

Guest Posted December 18, 2002 Posted December 18, 2002 Also try www.securepay.com.au this works with All Australian banks and the module is just in test mode now it will be ready in a day or two. Thanks to Brian who has given his time to make it work (byarger). I have been a secure pay customer for about 6 months now and are very happy. I have two miva stores using them and this will be my first Oscommerce site to use them. Scott

Cheers Alistair Dear Alistair Just read the message you posted on the osCommerce forums website about integrating Worldpay into your osCommerce shop. On first glance everything looks very interesting. I have spoken to Worldpay and their terms / cost seem acceptable. I have looked at your integration and that seems OK. BUT....as I am new to osCommerce (1 day new) and not an expert at PHP (only basic knowledge), I would like to ask you how to integrate the two products together. Is there an 'addon' you can let me have? Can you help please? Best wishes Toby
burt Posted December 18, 2002 Posted December 18, 2002 Click the downloads button at the top of this page, then click contributions, then click payment modules. You'll find WorldPay in there, and it takes about 10 minutes to install.
tobysutton Posted December 18, 2002 Posted December 18, 2002 Told you I was only 1 day new......hadn't even found this section of the website. Hopefully this will solve my problems. Thanks again Toby

TB Posted December 28, 2002 Posted December 28, 2002 I'm getting my store up and running with eWay and Westpac. (Kagg is helping with making an eWay module) It's one of the best for service and value that I've found. www.eway.com.au Hope this helps... Tony "The price of success is perseverance. ambience Posted January 1, 2003 Posted January 1, 2003 worldpay mod will not work with new checkout procedure...sorry i too am waiting for an update (not a php coder) but I am sure that there are people out there that can help I don't quite know what I'm doing in PHP after only seeing it for the first time this week, but I've spent a lot of sleepless nights on this problem and hope I have the solution. http://www.oscommerce.com/community/contri...utions,5/page,3 Graeme Simms.
frankl Posted January 3, 2003 Posted January 3, 2003 Do you have an eWay module you want to test? If anyone has an eWay module they want to test, we have the site for you! We would be quite happy to install and test for you. Running a few different snapshots on a secure Redhat server with curl 7.9.8 installed, and we have an eWay account and SSL certificate. For those who don't know, eWay is a popular payment gateway in Australia. It is a little tricky if you are using non-Windows servers as they require an xml request, constructed through php with curl, to send to their transaction server. eWay supplies a php sample file on their site http://www.eway.com.au/support/xml.asp and they also have a ready made Windows NT solution (which we can't test). Feel free to email me, [email protected] Cheers, Frank. osCommerce user since 2003!
kagg Posted January 3, 2003 Posted January 3, 2003 Hello, I have tried to develope eWay module, and tested it successfully with test transaction page provided by eway. :) Anybody interested in testing it in LIVE mode may PM. Kagg
kagg Posted January 8, 2003 Posted January 8, 2003 Thanks Frank and Tony for helping me to develop eway module and testing it LIVE. Will be adding in the contribution very shortly. :D Cheers Kagg

Guest Posted March 1, 2003 Posted March 1, 2003 OK guys We can offer gateway working with all australian banks and Oscommerce $150AUD per year and $10.00per month total $270.00per year. If you are interested let me know. [email protected] www.expressmultimedia.com
Max40 Posted March 1, 2003 Posted March 1, 2003 I had a look at your website, using Esac. Are you a third party provider? Meaning do you send payments to the client at the end of the month. Can the client have the money directly deposited into their account in real time? I know that Esac sell transactions on bulk, ie 2000 transactions for Ex $$ per year. Are you a agent for them. The Nobil internet company is very flexable to pls needs . They also do a lot on the secure page with the deal. Thanks in advance Max
Guest Posted March 1, 2003 Posted March 1, 2003 Hi Allan We can offer Securepay, Esec or Camtech. By any chance are you Camtech reseller ? If not we should have a talk as I am always looking for systems for my customers. My numbers are on the site. Thanks Scott
Guest Posted March 2, 2003 Posted March 2, 2003 I'm getting my store up and running with eWay and Westpac.(Kagg is helping with making an eWay module) It's one of the best for service and value that I've found. www.eway.com.au Hope this helps... Tony Does eWay support multiple currencies? I have been dumbfounded by the lack of currency support by Australian banks when it comes to online transactions.
Guest Posted March 2, 2003 Posted March 2, 2003 This is turning into a spam fest.... its not allowed... your posts will get deleted and we'll probably lose anything useful.... you have to private message if you want to offer something to somebody that is gonna be making money for you.
Guest Posted March 2, 2003 Posted March 2, 2003 This is what I know about multiple currency. Its not the gateway that needs to support it its your bank. If you can get a settlement account in USD or any other currency then all your payments from any gateway will settle in that currency. There is only one Australian bank trialling this system and they have selected only a few merchants. I can not tell you the bank because I just got a PM telling me (You are not permitted to make commercial posts....) and some one may think I am getting something out of it. If you want to know PM me.
Guest Posted March 2, 2003 Posted March 2, 2003 This is what I know about multiple currency. Its not the gateway that needs to support it its your bank. Several Australian banks have their own payment gateways - the Commonwealth has Commweb (hard to find info on), ANZ has eGate (only handles Australian currency), St George I believe is playing around with multiple currencies, but this is not implemented as far as I can tell. I know for a fact that Paypal does not support Australian dollars - as do not many other gateways. I think many Australian users are looking for a bank/gateway that supports multiple currencies, including Australian. I am glad somebody was kind enough to inform you of the forum rules - no need to go overboard.
Guest Posted March 2, 2003 Posted March 2, 2003 I think many Australian users are looking for a bank/gateway that supports multiple currencies, including Australian.. OK first of all there are two international company that will support multiple currencies AUD included (world pay & planet payments). The problem is you need to get a merchant account with the bank they send you to and thats in th UK. On a site with over $300,000 AUD in turn over the UK bank will only offer 4.5%. I am glad somebody was kind enough to inform you of the forum rules - no need to go overboard. Well somebody ? That was you Johnson. Look I am only offering help and if you want to start a slinging match I sujest you take it some where eals I am not interested. If you do not like the help I am offering then you do not need to take it. I did not intend to beak any rules and I have also tried to remove the post. There is no remove?? The last thing I would like to say is I would make NO money out of any gateway deal I just refer people to my contacts so they can make there own deal. The rates I posted are rates offered to me by the gateways to offer my hosting customers. Scott
Guest Posted March 2, 2003 Posted March 2, 2003 You need to park your nationalism on this one . . . the local Aussie banks have been talking about this one for years . . . with little to show by way of product. I believe the National Bank is the closest to delivering an offering . . . however, I wouldn't like to holding my breath. The issue of off-shore currency processing is very much a non-issue. I (as do many other Australian SME's) use a combination of Worldpay and Paypal to support many different currencies including Australian and New Zealand. Worldpay supports 22 different currencies with Paypal offering support for the Euro, GBP, Yen, US, and Can. Paypal have announced their intention to support the Aus dollars in the near future. As a customer, you need to consider not only the currency aspect, but the ability of your merchant host to assist you with fraud profiling and payment guarantees. Transacting in multiple currencies is easy . . . recognising delinquent payments (which could potentially cost you a lot of money) need to be your first port of call with your merchant provider. Unless your merchant provider has a history of processing off-shore currencies . . . it is unlikely that they will have developed a sophisticated fraud profile . . . over and above the profile they receive from the card merchants (i.e. AMEX, Visa, JCB, MC etc.) Cheers Alistair www.mobimarketing.com
