moving database to new osCommerce install

I know this must have been asked before and I have searched but cannot find any information on this.

 

I installed osCommerce Online Merchant v2.2 RC2a on a site. This site has an older version of osCommerce installed. Is it possible to move the database from the old site to the new one and if so how do I do this. I am not that familiar with PHPadmin but have looked the export / import features. So before I really mess up the installs can anyone give me some direction on this?

Did you try the "Back Up" and "Restore" Database in Admin Control Panel? You may check the following video tutorials at:

Check for "Back up database" and "Restore database" from the left navigation menu.

The problem is that I cannot access the admin area on the old osCommerce so I will have to find a solution that will let me move the database.
