add on for updating prices real time via a live rss feed?

hello there,

 

i am looking to update prices real time via a live rss feed.

 

basically i get the number from the rss feed, and then that number becomes integrated in the prices real time.

 

what might be the best way to do this?

 

i would be happy updating prices once a day or once a week, but eventually real time.

i know php/mysql, but have been having trouble trying to find what to modify.

 

i would like to multiply the base price, stored in the database, by a factor which changes daily/weekly/etc, and then display the current price to the customer.
