Trying to change configurations-can't get in

I am trying to get into files to make changes to our oscommerce site and this is the message I get:

Forbidden You don't have permission to access //catalog/includes/column_left.php on this server.

 

Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request. What can I do???? I have the login and password to go in and make changes to merchandise, etc. Why won't it let me in to change code in some of the files...I am not a programmer. Help

FTP user You created does not the needed permission if You are trying to get in thru an FTP tool.

 

else if You are going thru a browser chek configure.php file

Also chek permission on column_left.php.

Also is there any htaccess rules going thru.
