Like everyone else I am trying to get listed on search engines to draw in customers and have followed so many threads I have got lost as they all say to do different things!. I have installed the header tags contribution and the allprods contribution. I am using software called webposition gold 2.0 to analyse my site (www.it-game.com) for search listings and to submit but it is telling me that when I search against 'x-box' that: A keyword frequency of 1 is suggested for the Title area. Your total word count is 371 now, so you might consider increasing your word count. I think I have done everything that I can from using the contributions but from these results it is not enough. Can someone please take the time to give me some advice about how I can reolve these issues using the contributions (or any other way!) before getting my site ready for going live. Graham take the suggestions one or 2 at a time and work with them....For example: Change your page title to IT-Game Home of the x-box and game cube or something along those lines. That would give you higher ratings to their "formula". Another that I would work on is some real copy on your opening page and put lots of the key words you are using in it. Guest Posted December 15, 2002 Share Posted December 15, 2002 Write a advertisement for the store....Tell people why they should continue to stay on your site...why they should buy from you...What makes you different from everybody else.....While you're writing that copy, you're putting your keywords into the copy. From this the meta description tag is the most important. Silly question but this must be easy with a static site but with OSC being dynamic how can I create the same affect? Another silly question, what is the first page that a search engine would proceed to, and do the tags here have to be any different? joongpark Posted December 16, 2002 Share Posted December 16, 2002 This is not related to Search Engine but I hope I feed back on your site layout can help your costomer come and stay. I think taking out all the table border was not a great idea. Specially there is no vertical lines to show where your infoboxes end and middlw part starts. It will allow you to set keywords etc. real easy. There is currently an issue with Googlebot trying to crawl certain osCommerce sites. Search the forums for Google and you will have a good night reading on both searchengine placement as problems.
