Heidewitzka
Hello Bill and Co. i have used STS 4.2 before and had some problems... i downloaded the 4.3.3 and copied it over a fresh osCommerce as described in the help file... when I go to the admin panel i do not see the STS module... i saw that before a patch had been introduced to solve that problem... but in the 4.3.3. version the patch already has been implemented ..so its not that cause... before i tried 4.2 and it worked..i could see the STS in the modules menu and could work on the templates... what am i doing wrong? i tried it twice overwriting the existing files on my FTP thank you Egon Edited January 4, 2007 by Heidewitzka

Heidewitzka
Hi, i solved the problem... i used a newer version of my FTP program... although i overwrote the files it seems that something went wrong ... i now see the STS as a module but also see these warnings: what might that be? Are you using the Infobox module packaged with STS? There should be instructions on how to change the look of your infoboxes with that. It will allow you to set all of them to look the same, or create individual looks for each of them. If memory serves me correctly, the right_arrow.gif is found in your includes/classes/boxes.php file which governs the look of all of the infoboxes. If you only want to remove it from one infobox and not another then I would double check the instructions in your Infobox module. If it has you setup code in includes/classes/boxes.php for each individual box you can then remove it for just one box. You can have the link on the text heading in your What's New infobox by editing your includes/languages/english.php file - find the line that starts with: define('BOX_HEADING_WHATS_NEW', and change it to this: define('BOX_HEADING_WHATS_NEW', '<a href="' . tep_href_link(FILENAME_PRODUCTS_NEW) . '">' . 'What\'s New? »' . '</a>'); I believe the $raquo portion of that creates a > Quote ~Tracy

bkellum
bkellum The Infobox Templates for use with STSv4.2 is this on compatible for STS version 4.3.3 thanks STSv4.3 and higher (this includes version 4.3.3) has the "Infobox Templates for use with STSv4.2" automatically integraded into the contribution. If you have STSv4.3 or higher, you already have the Infobox Templates for use with STS. First, you have "turn on" STS in the admin (set Use Templates to true). Second, you have to "turn on" the Infobox Templates in the admin (set Use Infobox Templates to true). Third, have fun editing the templates provided in the contribution for your pages as well as your infoboxes. First, you do not have to use the arrow if you do not want it in your infobox. Its as simple as not inserting the $right_arrow STS tag. As far as transferring the "link" to the text heading, follow Tracy's instructions above.  Quote Bill Kellum Sounds Good Productions STS Tutorials & more: STSv4.6, STS Add-ons (STS Power Pack), STS V4 Forum STS Forum FREE TEMPLATE
bkellum
:D NEW BUNDLE ADDED... For those that are interested, I have posted an updated version of my STS and HTC bundle contribution. This bundle includes the latest Simple Template System version 4.3.3 intergraded with the latest version of the Header Tags Controller version 2.6.0. This bundle is a complete version of both of these contributions, just intergraded into one seamless install plus a handy User Manual that covers both contributions. **I’ve had those that just use HTC by itself find this User Manual useful. I am no longer posting this bundle on the STS contribution site to help avoid confusion for those who wish to download the latest version of STS by itself. ;) You can now find this bundle, in addition to tutorials and tips, on the STS4 Power Pack contribution site. (http://www.oscommerce.com/community/contributions,4456) I will continue to update the STS & HTC bundle as the need arises. Hope you find this useful. Folkbear
I'm having some trouble getting sts to function. the installation went smoothly, everything ok there. the problem is : when i open my admin-page - modules en I go to the STS page I can't get the changes on default, index, productinfo to save... dehuszar
Mid December, I made a post about about the shopping cart not retaining product selections beyond the product currently selected (meaning, I select one item, and I can check out, I "Continue Shopping" and select a new item, only the new item shows up in the shopping cart). Turning off STS caused that behavior to stop leading some to believe that there was a problem with the mixing of contributions. But then I did something obvious, which I should have tested from the start. Setting the template to the "test" or "full" demo templates. It appears, that using the demo templates, the shopping cart behaves as it should. So logically, it would then appear that the issue lies in the way my templates are built. For the product pages, my clients gave me very customized pages to fit to the osC backend, so I didn't want to use the $content variable as the product pages had to look just so... Here's the code for the "Add to Cart" button, and one for "View Cart": <center>$addtocartbutton#<a href="shopping_cart.php" title="View your shopping cart"><img src="images/viewcart.gif" alt="View Cart" /></a></center> Can anyone tell me if this may be the problem, and what a possible solution might be? Thanks in advance, Sam
rumi
This question has no doubt been asked but I cant find the answer anywhere. I want to add new pages links in my nav bar, ones that are not defined already in osc (example: galleries.php.html). I have created the php.html pages and put them in my template folder. I have added FILENAMES_MYFILENAME to includes/filenames.php also. What else do I need to do to have these new filenames work? Can I follow the contribution topic "Easily Add New Pages" for STS v4.3.3? Thank You

Can I follow the contribution topic "Easily Add New Pages" for STS v4.3.3? Thank You Yes, you can follow the directions but be careful because their is some really bad advice in that thread. Remember, in order for galleries.php.html to work, you need an actual galleries.php file. Like the thread points out, the easiest way to do this is to copy conditions.php and then rename it to galleries.php and make the noted edits. **There is also a contribution out there that will create new pages for you and make sure the required PHP code is in place called "Unlimited Pages". Quote Bill Kellum Sounds Good Productions STS Tutorials & more: STSv4.6, STS Add-ons (STS Power Pack), STS V4 Forum STS Forum FREE TEMPLATE

Thanks in advance, Sam Sam, In a nutshell, you are losing the session Id information from not using the $content variable and making your own. Try looking up SESSION ID in the osCommerce Knowledge Base for more information regarding making links without losing your cart contents. You will probably get more out of the comments and examples listed their. plancanvas
Great contribution! I have a problem though. My products_info page is blank. I've turned on and off all of the settings in the admin tool, but to no avail. I've been reading the manual back and forth and up and down the forum. I don't mind using the index template right now, just want to get the whole site to work before I start with the formatting. Any help would be greatly appriciated!!
