emermc Posted March 10, 2008 Posted March 10, 2008 I have a website that is not SSL enabled. I use Realex Payment processing to handle credit cards which is SSL enabled. Customers are getting a warning after they enter their credit card details & click Submit 'you are moving from a secure site to a non secure site', So some of them are clicking No do not continue. What happens is there payment is being taken but I've no order so I don't know anything has happened. Customers are getting in touch with me complaining. It seems to have suddenly created a lot of problems. Realex say I am directly referencing an image in my script that they response back to. I have checked checkout_success.php & checkout_process.php & didnt see anything obvious. I have asked Realex for more help but they are not being too responsive. I think this is a huge issue. I have been searching here & on the net & people are saying install SSL. I don't want to do this, this is my last resort. Would anyone have any solutions? I'd be willing to pay someone to help as I don't know php. Thank you, emermc
Guest Posted March 10, 2008 Posted March 10, 2008 Sorry but the answer is install SSL. Why is this the last resort - all ecommerce sites should have SSL installed regardless of if payments are processed on site or not - you are collecting personal info such as names and addresses - if you don't have SSL you WILL lose customers as people don't like to risk having their details snooped on!
emermc Posted March 11, 2008 Author Posted March 11, 2008 The reason it is my last resort as I read a little about it & it seems quite difficult & technical. That is all. Maybe I am wrong?
Guest Posted March 11, 2008 Posted March 11, 2008 It all depnds on your hosting company really - some are very simple and all it takes are a few clicks others are more complicated - for example my hosting comepltes with a full SSL cert included all I have to do is select which domain and 1 hr later it's all done (aparat from updating the osC configure.php files which is fairly straightforward) - other hosts require you to obtain the certs yourself and install. Take a look at http://www.oscommerce.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=233458 for more help and info
